Do Good And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 As many of you are aware, some of our families of Good Shepherd congregation have been laid off from work due to the recession. The impact of job losses varies from one family to another. At a time like this, we need to demonstrate our care for each other, just as God directs us in Galatians 6:9-10. So how do we demonstrate our care for our family members of Good Shepherd who have been hurt by the recession? Here are some ideas&ldots; 1. Some of us may be able to donate money for support of those who have lost jobs. These donations can be made at the church office. 2. Some of us may have temporary work around our homes that need attention, such as painting, small repairs, and other odd jobs. Some of our members who need work would rather earn what they can. If you can help out in this way, please write down a description of the work, the skills needed to do the work, your name, address, and phone number. This information can then be turned in to the church office. You would also need to figure out what you will pay for the work to be done. 3. If you are among those who are seeking work, please contact the church office for the list of temporary work opportunities. We realize that not everybody can do certain tasks, but we are trying to help out where we can. In these situations, we are assuming honest work and pay by all concerned. We will try our best to follow our Lords directions about caring for our family in Christ. Thank you for your consideration.
