Pastors's Message

Are You Ready To Meet Jesus Face To Face?

Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:7,8)

Have you ever thought much about what it will be like to actually see Jesus face to face? We are told that the day will come, and we will actually see Him with our own eyes. Job said, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.” (Job 19:25-27)

OK, so we know we will see Jesus. How will we feel as we behold Him? Jude tells us we will feel great joy on that day. “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy.”

So what does it take to reach heaven, to be with Jesus and all our fellow Christians who are already there? Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)

What is all involved in believing in Jesus? “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21) So we must follow Jesus, that is, live according to all He has taught us. What has He taught us to do? We are to worship Him, obey His will, partake frequently of the Lord’s Supper, recall our baptism as we live each day, love one another, pray and worship together with our fellow believers. To not do these things is to deny that we truly believe in Him.

To follow Jesus as Lord and Savior will automatically involve us in the life He has given us. I hope that during this Advent season you will think on these things.

Glad to be in Christ’s service,
