JOY Group

This is an opportunity for members of the congregation who are 55 years or older to enjoy fellowship with other members. The group meets monthly at noon on the third Tuesday during the school year. They share in a potluck meal, Bible study and a friendly game. Members of the congregation are encouraged to attend and to bring a friend.

Lamplighters

The mission of this group is to provide devotions and music as well as fellowship to the nursing home residents of Greenleaf Care Center. They meet at 9:45 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at Greenleaf.

Sewing Group

The Sewing Group meets every Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in the Youth Fellowship room. Even non-sewers are encouraged to attend from any age group. The group usually has a snack at mid-morning and a special birthday party is held each month.

Greeters

Greeters are scheduled at each Sunday service to assist the Pastor in welcoming visitors. Members wishing to help should contact the church office or sign up on the Time and Talent sheet.

Endowment Fund

The Good Shepherd Lutheran Endowment Fund helps further the ministry of Jesus Christ in two important ways.

  • The majority of the principal is invested with the Lutheran Church Extension Fund which means that the money is used to help expand and build new churches across the country.
  • The interest earned on the fund is used for a broad variety of ways to help our Church, such as for scholarships, technical improvements, music and missions.

This fund is perpetual, which means that gifts to this fund keep on working long after we are gone. Anyone who wants to leave a gift to the fund can get a free Last Will and Testament prepared by a local attorney. The church office at 573-3174 can be contacted so that arrangements can be made.
